The avian tooth NHMM/RD271 is from the type Maastrichtian (SE Netherlands / NE Belgium), Maastricht Formation, base of Valkenburg Member (Late Cretaceous); biocalcarenitic limestone. First described as belonging to the Ornithurae, our work helped precising its identification, in the Ichthyornithiformes (see Dumont et al. 2016).
